Why was EPDM first made?
A
It was first designed and used by the automotive industry
for use on hoses / brake pipes. The material that was, being
used had a tendency to rot when it was exposed to extremes of
temperature and the harsh chemicals seen within the engine bay.

Where else is EPDM used?
A
Window seals, door threshold seals, the waterproof seals around
car doors and windows, lakes/reservoir linings.

How long does it last?
A
The oldest EPDM roof is on an Airport in Chicago, it has been
in service since 1962 and continues to perform to this day.

Who can install it?
A
Only trained fitters are allowed to purchase and install m2m’s
system, this eliminates any chance of cowboy fitters.

Are there any flames used during the installation?
A
NO. The system is completely cold applied,
using no flames or dangerous bitumen boilers.

Is it environmentally friendly?
A
YES. EPDM was featured in a GREENPEACE publication
called “Building the Future”
In it Greenpeace state that EPDM is the most sustainable product
available for flat roofs.

Does the old roof need to be removed?
A
NOT ALWAYS. If the existing roof can be properly
checked and it can be insured that no rotten timbers, damp or
hidden problems may remain, the old roof can be overlaid. At
m2m we have a system that caters for every eventuality.

Is EPDM a new roofing material?
A
NO. EPDM has been used on roofs since 1962,
over 1 million square metres is installed every year. In fact
in the USA 1 in 3 flat roofs is an EPDM roof.
