There are essentially three different methods of installation - ballasted, adhered, and mechanically fixed - each of which is described briefly below, and for each of which there is an additional web page here giving more information.

We can deliver training in the choice and installation of all such systems, and are more than happy to provide advice and guidance should it be required.

We are also able to provide Firestone SpecTool Software, and again some more information is available on here on the site.

Ballasted Systems

An EPDM Ballasted or Inverted System can be applied on any building that can accommodate the extra load of the ballast and where the roof slope does not exceed 1:6.

Fully Adhered Systems

An EPDM Fully Adhered System can be applied on any building where the substrate is compatible with Bonding Adhesive to provide sufficient adhesion. For insulated roofs the ability of the roof deck to provide sufficient pull out resistance for the fastening system should be established.
